A little project of mine...

I've decided to start this blog up for two reasons. Firstly, I'm a writer. I write. And it's a lot harder than most people realise. I'm not yet published, unless you count online self publishing, but I'm not far off. A few short lists and a local competition under my belt so far. But part of this blog is to keep me motivated. A record of my ups and downs, the trials and the errors, my muses and misfires. And the best cure for writers block, I believe is to write about why you can't write. All of that will go on this blog.

So why do it online? Why not keep a traditional paper journal for all of this? That's where reason two comes in. I also intend this to be a resource for other aspiring writers. Maybe even successful ones too. I don't pretend to have all the answers, but we artists struggle together, and a little advice is always welcome. If my experiences can help anyone, through inspiration or ridicule, then it's all worth it.

I likely won't put much of what I actually write up on here, other than the odd writing exercise. Most publishers and editors do consider online publishing to be legitimate and so won't let you reproduce it in their publications. But no matter. Let's see how this all goes.
